The booking error, and the fix
The official site’s desktop booking flow can trigger domestic security-plugin checks that reject foreign-issued cards outright — not because the card is invalid, just because of how the payment module is set up. Two workarounds consistently help:
- Switch to a mobile browser rather than desktop when booking.
- Book through an authorized third-party platform — Klook, KKday, or Trip.com all sell Sky Capsule tickets and process foreign cards without routing through the same domestic checkout.
Which direction to pick for sunset
The route runs between Mipo and Cheongsapo, and direction matters if sunset photos are the point of the trip:
- Cheongsapo to Mipo generally faces the capsule westward along the coastline, putting the sunset ahead of you rather than behind.
- Mipo to Cheongsapo runs the opposite way, so you’d be looking backward for the same view.
Time your booking for the window closest to actual sunset for the season you’re visiting, since capsules further from that window won’t get the light you’re after regardless of direction.
